About Us

Almanar Women Association (AMWA) is a Non – Governmental – Organization (NGO) registered with Corporate Affairs Commission . In the last 13 years since its inception , AMWA has played a major role in the transformation of vulnerable women, girls and orphans from a life of destitution and degradation to dignity and self reliance. AMWA has economically rehabilitated as many as fifteen thousand (15,000) people affected by poverty, insurgency and HIV/AIDs through its various restoration and rebuilding initiatives including psychosocial support and home based care for PLHIV. It has created many economic opportunities through skills acquisition and entrepreneurship training, provision of various machines (sewing, knitting, milling, welding, irrigation machines), grants for petty trading and counselling on health, marriage and peaceful co-existence. We also organise seminars and workshops to discuss topics on moral issues.
